The importance of recovery after pregnancy and childbirth is very demanding on the body and your recovery takes time. During the nine months of pregnancy, the body adapts to the baby's growth. Hormones soften the pelvis, abdominal muscles diverge so that the child can grow, and the posture changes to carry the extra weight.
After giving birth, whether it was a vaginal or a cesarean delivery, the body needs time to recover. Although you can influence recovery, there are also factors you simply have to deal with, including a connective tissue repair time of 9-12 months.
We recommend that you wait 6 weeks after a vaginal birth and 8 weeks after a cesarean section to start exercising after giving birth. This way, you give your uterus and body enough rest to recover before you start making your body stronger.
This does not mean that you will immediately start the sport you did before giving birth at that time. Childbirth is an injury that you need to recover from slowly. It's better to consider this moment as the start of your rehabilitation process. It is important to slowly rebuild the training with attention to the recovery of abdominal muscles, pelvic floor, posture and mobility. The Core Restore Program is the first step towards recovery.
That's why we have it Core Restore Program. In this complete 6-week program for fitness after delivery:
- Let's start with the basics so that you can build from a strong foundation.
- Do we do a diastasis check, abdominal muscle examination and posture analysis.
- We train the abdominal muscles, pelvic floor and also pay attention to mobility.
- How can you pick up sports again after giving birth and what do you need to know about your recovery.
- What are alarm bells and common complaints.
After this 6-week program, you can move on to the weekly PowerMama training lessons. It is a challenging and effective small group training during and after pregnancy.
